Posting A Sales Letter On Blogger? Pimp It Out and Pump It Up

Hi,

If you're posting a sale letter on Blogger, try using Blogger Buster to pimp out your Blogger. I love that site. It's filled with Blogger tricks, secrets and techniques -- literally.

No hype there.

Like this one. Did you know that at the bottom of Blogger is your Atom Feed code. You just right click to get the URL. But check this out. You add a ?alt=rss or something like that onto the end of that URL and it makes it an rss feed!

Info Product Creation Dashboard?

Hey,

Marlon here.

Well, if you know me much at all, you know one of our latest products is the Info Product Dashboard.  Now, what I wonder inside my head is if it would have been better to call it "Info Product Creation Dashboard."  

The reason I say that is:

1.  It's a longer name.  That's NOT good.

2.  But it gets the word "creation" in there. That IS good because it describes what it does better.  Just the term "Product Dashboard" could mean about anything.

So it's a half dozen one way or the other.  Fortunately, the URL of ProductDashboard.com was an easy choice and works well.

Here's a take away you can use:

Try taking whatever it is you do or whatever you sell and break it down into step-by-step chunks for people. It's a cliche but you eat an elephant a bite at a time.

Even people who are highly intelligent prefer to have things in a step-by-step procedure they can easily follow.

Hey,

Your headline of your sales letter is extremely important.

The web is largely built on headlines.  If you don't believe that, check out cnn.com and msnbc.com.  Their pages are built with lots of catchy headlines that COMPEL you to read the articles.

Watch what headlines grab YOUR attention.  

Just by becoming aware of headlines that reach out and seduce you into paying attention to them, you'll become better at crafting headlines for your sales business letter.

Wow, just learned some stuff about Facebook

Just learned some stuff about Facebook:

1. By commenting on people's walls, they'll view your profile.

2. You get to list your URL for your Sales Business Letter in your profile.

3. From your profile they go to your web site.

4. A poke is the same thing as a hi or hello

5. Respond to a poke by writing a note on their wall.

How To Track Your Business Sales Letters With Feedshark

There's a service called Feed Shark at: http://www.feedshark.brainbliss.com

What it does is allows you to submit your sales letters to sites so that Google and other search engines can find and spider them.

This is a good thing. I've found that my blog posts and sales letters sometimes have a hard time getting found by the search engines. That is why I'm submitting this blog to Feed Shark. It was recommended to me by Melvin Perry, a sharp seo guy.

Anyway, we'll see if Google finds this blog now or not. I tried using pingomatic or pinggoat but somehow that didn't work. I think I also tried a post on Propeller. Sometimes the biggest problem in getting your sale business letter into the search engines is just getting it recognized to begin with.

What good does it do to write a GREAT sales letter if it isn't in Google, MSN or Yahoo?

Sales Business Letter Secrets Revealed




I wanted to make a quick post about sales business letter secrets and tricks I've learned over the years.

Here are a few for your review:

1. Do NOT be afraid of writing letters that are too long.

Be afraid of being too boring! This is the mistake MOST people make.

2. Write the way you talk.

A lot of people don't write the way they talk. Pretend you're having coffee with someone and you're explaining the benefits of your product or service.

3. Write without editing. Then edit.

Do NOT try to write and edit at the same time. Write, then go back and edit. Write two or three times the amount of copy you need.

4. Put yourself in the reader's shoes. Write from THEIR perspective, not yours. It's called WIFM. What's in it for me? Always put a lot of WIFM in your letters.

Sales Business Letter?

Do you need a sales business letter?

A lot of people I talk to on a daily basis feel sales letters are too long and people don't read them.

The odd thing about this to me is they say that yet invariably they've bought products from long form sales letters! People have been marketing with sales business letters for a hundred years.

This is really one of those evergreen marketing strategies that keeps on working.

But how does that help you?

Here's my plan for you:

Step one: Write out every single feature of your product or service.

A feature is something your product or service has. Like a pencil has black lead. That sort of thing.

Step two: For every feature ask yourself, "What does it DO?" This is what Eugene Schwartz, the famous copywriter, used to call a "doesi." What does it do?

Step three: For each doesi, ask yourself how that creates a benefit to the buyer. This is your BENEFIT. People don't buy products or features. They buy benefits.

Step four: Think of a specific person who is or would be the ideal buyer for your prospect or service.

Get their picture in your mind. Michael Masterson from Agora actually recommends getting a picture of them and putting it on your computer as you write! I love that idea.

Step five: Now, imagine you're having coffee with that person and you're taking every single feature, explaining the doesi of it to that person, then walking them through exactly and specifically how it benefits THEM.

Step six: Create a headline that articulates the single biggest benefit to the buyer.

The headline is the ad for the ad. And it should give a giant benefit or promise to the potential buyer.

Step seven: Write three opening paragraphs that really grab the reader and make 'em wanna read the rest of the letter.
